About
Rebecca Hazell

Since early childhood, Rebecca has been combining her two passions: telling stories and illustrating them. After graduating with honors in Russian and Chinese History from the University of California at Santa Cruz, she embarked on a series of career adventures, including garment design, tailoring and dressmaking; writing and illustrating educational materials; designing award winning needlepoint kits; designing coloring books; creating craft kits for a science center, and of course making art and writing novels.

Over the past thirty years, she has written and illustrated award-winning children’s books that were published internationally, as well as an adult historical trilogy.

She has lived across North America and traveled across the world, often visiting places featured in her books. She now lives on Vancouver Island with her husband. Their grown children and her sister live nearby.
